China releases images by its Tianwen-1 probe
天问一号任务着陆区域高分影像图发布
The probe's landing platform, the Zhurong rover and surrounding areas can be easily identified. Tianwen-1 probe landed on the Red Planet last month in China's first-ever mission to Mars. The mission was launched in July last year on a Long March-5 rocket.
探测器的着陆平台、“祝融号”火星车和周边地区很容易识别。“天问一号”探测器于上月登陆火星,这是中国首次火星探测任务

Sending pictures in grayscale save a lot of data volume which is important in interplanetary missions where bandwidth is very limited because of the large distances. High-resolution map generates a huge volume of data and so Tianwen-1's high resolution camera takes grayscale images. It can also take color images but its color mode doesn't have enough resolution to detect the lander
