Won't recognise your vaccine certificates if you don't clear Covaxn, Covishield: India to EU

NEW DELHI: India will not recognise EU’s digital covid certificate until the EU includes Indian vaccines Covishield and Covaxn in the certificate.

新德里：在欧盟将印度新冠疫苗Covishield和Covaxn纳入清单之前，印度不会认可欧盟的数字新疫苗证书。

In what is certainly the first diplomatic retaliatory move against vaccine nationalism, India has said it will only recognise EU digital covid certificate on a reciprocal basis. The EU “green Pass” is expected to come into effect from July 1.

印度表示，只会在对等基础上承认欧盟的数字新冠疫苗证书，这无疑是针对疫苗民族主义的首个外交报复行动。欧盟“绿色通行证”预计将于7月1日生效。

The EU Digital covid certificate, known as the "Green Pass," will exempt those who are fully vaccinated with vaccine approved by EU from mandatory quarantine.

欧盟数字新冠证书被称为“绿色通行证”，持有该证书，那些完成接种欧盟批准的新冠疫苗的人可免除强制隔离。

“We have conveyed to EU Member States that India will institute a reciprocal policy for recognition of the EU Digital Covid Certificate. Upon notification of Covishield and Covaxn for inclusion in the EU Digital Covid Certificate and recognition of Indian CoWIN vaccination certificates, Indian health authorities would reciprocally exempt the concerned EU Member State for exemption from mandatory quarantine all those persons carrying EU Digital Covid Certificate," sources said.

消息人士称：“我们已向欧盟成员国转达，印度将对欧盟数字新冠疫苗证书实施互惠政策。一旦获悉Covishield和Covaxn被纳入欧盟数字新冠疫苗证书，以及对印度CoWIN疫苗接种证书的认可，印度卫生当局将对相关欧盟成员国实施对应的豁免政策，对所有携带欧盟数字新冠疫苗证书的人员免除强制隔离”

The European Union’s ‘vaccine passport’ programme has approved only four vaccines, Vaxzevria (Oxford-AstraZeneca), Comirnaty (Pfizer-BioNTech), Spikevax (Moderna) and Janssen-Johnson & Johnson.

欧盟的“疫苗护照”计划仅批准了四种疫苗，即Vaxzevria(牛津-阿斯利康)、Comirnaty(辉瑞-生物科技)、Spikevax (Moderna)和Janssen-Johnson & Johnson。

Covishield is exactly the same as Vaxzevria, but failed to make the cut. Covaxn has not been considered, largely because it is yet to get a WHO approval.
