NEW DELHI: India's top three IT companies -- TCS, Infosys and Wipro -- are set to roll out around 1.05 lakh job offers in the financial year 2021-22 (FY22). This brings a dramatic U-turn in hiring sentiment which the tech giants said may continue for the next few quarters.

Companies are signing record deals worth billions of dollars, which means that they need more employees ready to get into projects when they commence.

The three companies have already added 40,887 employees to its workforce in the first quarter of this fiscal, compared to a net decline of 9,088 people in the same period of last year.

Largest software exporter Tata Consultancy Services said it will be hiring more than 40,000 freshers from campuses in the country in FY22.

IT companies are drawing up robust hiring plans for the second year on a trot, as digital deals continue to flow in and customer projects are ramped up.

Infosys chief operating officer Pravin Rao said rising attrition in the industry poses a near-term challenge as the demand for digital talent explodes.

Following similar move, Wipro announced that it will roll out over 30,000 offer letters this year for freshers to join in financial year 2022-23.

Wipro's IT services workforce crossed the milestone of 2 lakh with a closing headcount of 2,09,890. Its attrition was at 15.5 per cent in the June 2021 quarter.
