BJP to stage protest on Oct 7 for opening TN temples on all days

CHENNAI: BJP’s members will stage protests in front of major temples in Tamil Nadu on October 7 against the government's decision not to allow public worship at temples on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, state BJP president K Annamalai said in a statement.

金奈：泰米尔纳德邦的印度人民党主席K Annamalai 在一份声明中表示，10月7日，印度人民党成员将在泰米尔纳德邦的主要寺庙前举行抗议，反对政府不允许周五、周六和周日在寺庙进行公众礼拜的决定。

“Leaders and cadre of the party will protest in front of all major temples demanding that the government allow devotees to visit temples on all days with immediate effect. The protest will be coordinated by former national secretary H Raja,” said Annamalai in the statement issued on Friday. He urged the public to extend their support to the protest.

If the government did not heed to the demand, the protest would be made as a “people's movement”, he said.

The government’s actions, including curtailing of Vinayagar Chathurthi celebrations and melting of gold offered to temples by the devotees, conveyed the message that the DMK still operated on its founding atheistic philosophy, said Annamalai.

why only close places of worship on Fridays and weekends when huge crowds are allowed to gather in beaches, picnic spots , tasmac bars, no rationale logic is there. atheist anti hindu dmk simply trying strong arm tactics to deny worship rights in the garb of covid.
