‘India to soon produce 90%...’: Rajnath Singh on defence boost under ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat'

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India will soon manufacture 90% of defence products it needs. He added that by 2024-2025, India will also export such products worth USD 5 billion. The defence minister paid tribute to Rani Laxmibai during an event in Jhansi. PM Modi, Rajnath Singh and UP CM Yogi Adityanath were present on the concluding day of Rashtra Raksha initiatives. The Prime Minister dedicated several new initiatives of the defence ministry to the nation. He handed over the light combat helicopter to the IAF chief in Jhansi. The ceremony was held as part of three-day-long ‘Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv’.

 @Edytha Sus  exactly . The local R&D is absent and all JV companies just like to import and assemble and manufacture spare parts but don't have the original blueprint and hence if the foreign firm retracts from the JV contract the firms become a separate product manufacturing firm.
