Defence Minister Rajnath Singh bats for the development of hypersonic missiles to maintain credible deterrence. Singh's pitch for hypersonic missiles came months after China reportedly tested a hypersonic missile. Rajnath said that India must aspire to develop niche defence technologies that are only available with a select few nations presently. Rajnath said development of hypersonic cruise missiles will be a revolutionary change in India's defence sector. Singh made these remarks at a seminar titled 'preparing for future' which was organised by the DRDO.

印度国防部长拉杰纳特·辛格称要研发高超音速导弹，以保持可靠的威慑力。

据报道，中国测试了一枚高超音速导弹。几个月后，辛格就开始呼吁研发高超音速导弹。

他说，印度应当立志研发目前只有少数几个国家掌握的国防技术，高超音速巡航导弹的研发将是印度国防部门的一个革命性变化。
