Chinese navy escorted 7,000 ships in Gulf of Aden, Somali Basin in 13 years

13年来，中国海军在亚丁湾、索马里海域为7000艘船舶护航

December 26 marked the 13th anniversary of the start of People's Liberation Army Navy's escorting missions in the Gulf of Aden and the waters off the coast of Somalia. Over the past 13 years, China has sent 39 navy fleets to carry out escort missions for more than 7,000 Chinese and foreign ships in the area, bringing safety to the waterways that used to be the most dangerous in the world.

China has done well with the anti-piracy escort missions but the real need for China's navy will now be the need to develop a true blue water navy (which China is close to achieving) so that they can beat their enemies from the West, especially the US in a major military conflict in any ocean or sea
