An Indian-origin man alleged that Mumbai airport’s Covid test & quarantine protocol is a ‘scam’. Manoj Ladwa and his wife reached Mumbai on Dec 30 to attend his father-in-law’s funeral. The U.K. national narrated his version of events in a video on Facebook. "I have been magically tested positive at Bombay international airport. These four people are from the same flight as us, Virgin. Apparently, Virgin let so many of these people on a flight who are all positive but were negative yesterday," he said. "There is nobody responsible here. It's a scam. We are being scammed," he added.

rtpcr tests are highly sensitive but their specificity is extremely low. ( and am not even talking about the lower category tests) In common language people say that someone tested positive / they're I'll with covid. But technically this is just a screening process. Even at a molecular level it only looks (basically)for symptoms. So yes if you were negative just yesterday and positive today you should seriously doubt that.

He tested negative in UK 3 hours before boarding the flight, so there is a high probability that he might have contacted the virus while boarding in UK or in the flight. Calling this a scam is not acceptable.

Not only in India....people are negative before boarding and they may be positive later....sometimes in flight people become positive...all are helpless under such situation...but it's sad ....very sad...

Airlines specify RTPCR tests 72 to 48 hours before boarding. In practice after giving swab samples  people go about freely mingling in the society with their jobs. It is possible one can get infected after such tests too

Actually this guy has no moral sense of duty. This Angrezi babu wants to go for funeral after being detected positive, thus causing funeral of other people he may come in contact with. Everyone of us has lost someone or atleast faced some discomfort because of this pandemic, for me its both.

Law is law for everyone. Everyone has things to attend to but that cannot be used as an excuse to bypass the law. Especially during the current times when UK, US and many European countries are having uncotrollably rising COVID cases. India has already seen a lot during the 2nd wave. If this gentleman is making such a cry about this being a scam. Why would there be only 15 positive's . In that case entire flight should have been positive. You have to follow the rules set by evening country and local body.
