The Bombay high court has refused to recognize public holidays as a fundamental right. The court suggested cutting down the number of listed holidays.

I am a bank officer with a Govt Bank.

We have just 12 holidays excluding Sundays 2nd and 4th Saturdays.

(few holidays falls in Sunday and Saturdays).

We don't have vacations like the Courts and our work life is not of the worst in India.

So courts and media should use there valuable time for some things more fruitful.

Not everyone has 2 weekends off. We work 6 days a week and most private company have their own holiday calender where most of these public holidays are not included. Like I had to work on New year's day as well.

The most inefficient institution in the world is Indian judiciary . Yet "your honours" of India takes seasonal vacations. Even during the lockdown while working from home (online), judges took summer vacation . If judiciary wants to reduce holidays then go ahead , charity begins at home .

In the US there are only 12 holidays, 11 holidays in France, and about the same in most of the West (much too little in comparison).
