India has reacted strongly to the assault of an Indian-origin Sikh tax driver in New York and sought action against the accused. This after the video of the assault went viral where a white man is seen hitting the Sikh tax driver outside JFK Airport in New York. The video of the assault sparked widespread outrage, prompting India to raise the matter officially with the U.S authorities. The State Department meanwhile has also condemned the assault, saying hate-based violence is unacceptable.
