China's independently developed large amphibious #aircraft AG600-1003 successfully completed its first test run on February 8, the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) said on Thursday. After the AG600-1003, two more AG600 aircraft will be assembled this year, China Media Group reported.

Yes it’s amphibious. It can operate entirely from water if necessary. Such an aircraft can rescue people stranded a long distance from the shore beyond the range of shore based helicopters.

Exactly the basic technology for such aircraft is completely open source and out of patent. They designed an aircraft to fulfil an expected need. The basic technology for both aircraft is many decades old.

Chinese like most East Asians in modern times are not creative people, and have always looked elsewhere for inventions and breakthroughs to advance their society. Creativity initially takes a lot of failures, and failure is hardly tolerated in conservative countries like China, especially it being a one-party auth rian state. Easier just to take/steal/borrow from others, and then deny it later on.

East Asians can be as creative as any other nation. Look at Japan they have had tremendous creativity in many ways. Now the Chinese are technically ahead of the west in nearly every area of science and technology they can realise that creativity within its people. Look at some of the infrastructure in China and say none of it is novel. Also the US lie about them stealing is just that a lie.
