'Principled, independent': Russia hails India's Ukraine stand; Welcomes Indian statement at UN meet

Russia has praised India's 'independent and principled' stand on Ukraine amid ongoing crisis between Moscow and the West. Russian Embassy in New Delhi welcomed the India's stand on Ukraine at the United Nations meet held yesterday. At the UN meeting, India called for quiet diplomacy to defuse the ongoing tensions. In the same breath, India called on the world community to address the 'legitimate security concerns' --- an apparent reference to Russia's demands to the West over NATO expansion.

俄罗斯称赞印度在乌克兰问题上的“独立、有原则”立场，目前莫斯科和西方之间的危机仍在继续。

俄罗斯驻新德里大使馆在昨天举行的联合国会议上对印度有关乌克兰问题的立场表示欢迎。

在联合国会议上，印度呼吁通过低调的外交手段来缓和目前的紧张局势。

US and NATO have to understand that the Russian patience with the NATO expansion in the its neighborhood has a limit. Russia shouldn't be pushed too far on this.
