Even as the Indian government ramped up its evacuation efforts and the foreign secretary called the Ukrainian ambassador to emphasise India's concern for citizens trapped in the war zone, several medical students alleged that they were harassed at checkpoints on Ukraine's border with Poland. The students said they were kept in an almost hostage-like situation in the freezing cold and denied food, water, shelter or safe passage. They claimed that the border guards were abusing them because of India abstaining on a UNSC resolution against the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

印度政府加大了撤离力度，外交部长致电乌克兰大使，强调印度对被困战区公民的关注，几名医科学生声称，他们在乌克兰与波兰边境的检查站受到攻击。

The students shared videos of soldiers firing warning shots and using force to disperse them. In another clip, a Ukrainian guard was seen shoving away an Indian girl who fell on his feet and begged him to allow her to make the border crossing. Several students said Ukrainian residents have also turned hostile against them

They fled by train, car or bus, while some walked many miles through the night to reach the fenced-off border crossings, joining lines of tens of thousands of people desperate to escape the war.

This action by Ukrainian Police Forces is undeniably heinous. But we need to remember that just like every country, every population has good, open minded people, they also have morally corrupt, narrow minded individuals. It is not unique to Ukraine,My point is we should not judge the Ukrainian populace according to the action of few extremist criminals.

The students should have left when the Russians amassed on the Ukrainian border. What did they think? That the Russians have come to look at the Ukraine border?,If the tax payer spends today for them, they can either return the money or work for two years in the rural areas of India for free. This way they can be grateful to the government as well as the tax paying people of India.

In a war zone behave and adapt with the situations. Dont expect Ukrainians or any Europeans will worry about Indians luxury and comfort at this point. Before war itself India gave enough warnings to leave the country, but our "brainy" students did refuse and continue there. Good luck.
