It is day 12 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and scores of civilians have lost their lives in the conflict. Armies of both countries have been involved in intense fights since Russian troops entered Ukraine. Now, Putin has set conditions for a ceasefire.

There was already a ceasefire agreed upon by both sides just last week to give way to those evacuees to evacuate but then it was repeatedly violated by Russia while Ukrainian and Russian delegates were in talks at the negotiating table. Because of this Ukraine will never lay down their arms as long as there's a single Russian soldier inside Ukraine.  Why would Ukraine trust Russia's words of promise if Russia doesn't mean what it says?
