After French Rafales, American F/A-18 fighters to demonstrate their capabilities to Indian Navy

NEW DELHI: Ahead of the slated commissioning of the country’s indigenous aircraft carrier (IAC) in August this year, it’s now the turn of the US Navy’s F/A-18E Super Hornet fighter jet to showcase its capabilities to the Indian Navy.

Two Boeing-manufactured F/A-18s will conduct a series of operational demonstrations at the shore-based test facility (SBTF) in Goa, which has a ski-jump to resemble an aircraft carrier’s deck, in the third week of May.

sir...F-18s aerodynamics are a bit flawed esp in close-quarters...Rafales on the other hand are much more balanced & newer design...besides, IAF already has 36 rafales so IN having the same will reduce long term maintenance costs...also french might be a little more trust-worthy than americans in crunch time

We've seen how the Air Force and Navy rejected the Tejas and how the Tejas was forcefully inducted in the Air Force and now will be forcefully inducted in the Navy.
