In a major boost to defnce cooperation, U.S and India are exploring the possibilities of Indian shipyards to not only maintain but to also repair American Navy ships. The move also aimed to bring more business to the Indian shipyards, will further boost defence trade between New Delhi and Washington. The key decision was taken during the India-U.S 2+2 ministerial meeting that was held in Washington on Monday.

I see this as a strategy to contain china from entering into indian waters.
