Maharashtra: Attempt to rob ATM with excavator fails in Sangli

KOLHAPUR: An elaborate plan to steal an automated teller machine (ATM) with the help of an excavator in a Sangli village failed after the vehicle got stuck in a trench on Saturday night.

周六晚上，窃贼精心策划，用挖掘机挖走一台自动柜员机（ATM），但由于该机器卡在了路上的一条壕沟里，计划失败。

The entire sequence of events has been captured in the CCTV camera and released by the Sangli police.

整个事件的过程已被监控拍下，并由桑格利警方公布。

According to the investigation, police attached with Miraj gramin police station said that the suspects first stole the excavator parked outside a petrol pump with the help of duplicate keys. They then drove the vehicle to Arag village, where a private bank had opened an ATM centre a few months ago. They then broke the door of the centre and uprooted the ATM case.

根据调查，警察说，嫌疑人首先配了一把钥匙，偷走了停在汽油泵外的挖掘机。然后他们把挖掘机开到Arag村，几个月前，一家私人银行在那里设了一个ATM。然后，他们破门而入，将自动取款机挖走

Inspector Chandrakant Bidre of Miraj gramin police station told TOI, "After they took the ATM case out of the centre, the excavator got stuck in a trench. The ATM case fell in the trench. The robbers tried to break the case open but failed. They left the vehicle and the ATM case behind and fled the scene."

警察局的巡查员钱德拉坎特·比德尔告诉印度时报记者：“他们把ATM机挖出来后，挖掘机卡在了一条沟里。ATM箱掉进了沟里。劫匪试图打开ATM机，但失败了。他们把车和ATM机留在了现场，然后逃离。”

He added that they suspect the involvement of two to three people in the robbery attempt. Bidre said the bank staff was called and the ATM case was opened. An amount of Rs 27 lakh in cash was found inside.

他补充说，警方怀疑有两三人参与了抢劫。银行工作人员接到电话，自动取款机的箱子打开了。在里面发现了270万卢比的现金
