China sends five satellites into orbit by sea launch

China successfully sent five satellites into space from the East China Sea on April 30. The five satellites, including the Jilin-1 Gaofen 03D, were launched by a Long March-11 carrier rocket at 11:30 Beiing Time and have entered the planned orbit. The newly-launched satellites will provide commercial remote sensing data services for sectors including land resource survey, urban planning and disaster monitoring. This mission is China's third sea-based launch mission, which further expanded the maneuvering range of maritime launch and accumulated technological expertise for future long-distance sea-based launch missions. The mission's success will lay cornerstones for normalized and high-frequency launches at sea in the future.

4月30日，中国在东海成功发射了5颗卫星。包括“吉林一号”高分03D在内的5颗卫星于北京时间11时30分由长征11号运载火箭发射，目前已进入预定轨道。

新发射的卫星将为土地资源调查、城市规划和灾害监测等领域提供商业遥感数据服务。

这是中国第三次海基发射任务，进一步扩大了海上发射机动范围，为未来远程海基发射任务积累了技术专长。

此次任务的成功将为未来海上常态化和高频发射奠定基础。

China needs LEO satellites.  It is clear from the Russian Ukranian conflict that LEO helps augment exsting weapon systems so artillery become that much more lethal.  You can be that in any future conflict against let’s say India, the US will provide LEO to help them shell key Chinese positions.  Because China is behind in LEO, this is a crucial weak spot that needs to be addressed.
