Interesting, but I strongly doubt that China will ever really corner the US on tech. It will compete, but it is unlikely to ever eclipse it. China simply struggles to attract foreign inventors and scientists, and the US is a huge talent magnet from all over the world, it's not close. The US still has virtually all of the world's best universities for similar reasons.

Undoubtedly China advances in many fields are upward trending while USA's progress  are trending downward.

The 2 countries curves are expected to intersect in the period between 5 to 10 years from now.

However China need to realize that USA can pull back its decline and beat China in  the game as it had done so to Japan's rise in the past (circa 1990s), causing Japan's long lost decades of stagflation that follows.

So China should not be too proud and becomes complacent.
