Honour killing: Wife’s family stabs 25-year-old to death in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Tension prevailed at Saroornagar when a 25-year-old car showroom worker, who recently had an inter-faith marriage, was stabbed to death allegedly by his wife’s family members in full public view on Wednesday night.

海得拉巴：周三晚上，一名25岁的汽车展厅工作人员在众目睽睽之下被妻子的家人捅死，他和妻子信奉不同的宗教。

In January 2022, the victim married his 23-year-old lover against the wishes of her family members. After the marriage, the victims even approached police seeking protection and they have been staying at Saroornagar.

At 9pm on Wednesday when the couple was travelling on a bike, they were intercepted by two family members of the woman near Saroornagar municipal office at Panjala Anil Kumar Colony. The two assailants stabbed the victim to death. Police immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the body for a post-mortem examination.

After the incident, an opposition party workers reached the spot and raised slogans against the ruling party.
