NEW DELHI: The US surpassed China to become India's top trading partner in 2021-22, reflecting strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

According to the data of the commerce ministry, in 2021-22, the bilateral trade between the US and India stood at $119.42 billion as against $80.51 billion in 2020-21.

2021年至2022年，美国超过中国，成为印度的第一大贸易伙伴，这反映出两国经济关系的加强。

根据商务部的数据，2021年至2022年，美国与印度的双边贸易额为1194.2亿美元，而2020年至2021年两国的贸易额为805.1亿美元。

During 2021-22, India's two-way commerce with China aggregated at $115.42 billion as compared to $86.4 billion in 2020-21, the data showed.

The headline is totally misleading. China continues to be our no. 1 Import partner with $94.16 billions imports Vs US remaining on 2nd rank with $21.25 Billion. So we are still depending on China as usual contrary to public perception that we would like to reduce China's imports. As against, our exports to China are mere 21.25 billions almost the same like last year of $21.18 billions. This shows that we could not dictate to China our intent which remains only on paper.
