HYDERABAD: Police are verifying the role of the kin of two politicians, including an MLA, and a person from an affluent family in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of a 17-year-old girl in a high-end car in Jubilee Hills last week. On Thursday late night, officials claimed that they got important leads and are hopeful in cracking the case by nabbing the accused.

Earlier, as part of the investigation, the MLA was also contacted by police to know the whereabouts of his kin on May 28 and subsequently, the MLA denied his kin's role in the offence.

The girl's father, in his complaint, alleged that when his daughter was returning home in a car along with a few boys after attending a party at a pub in Jubilee Hills, three or four boys sexually abused her.

"On the day of the offence, the girl, on the invitation of her male friend, went to the party with the consent of her family members. Though the party was held at a pub, it was a non-alcoholic event between 1pm and 6 pm," police said.

警方称：“在案发当天，女孩应其男性朋友的邀请，征得其家人的同意，参加了聚会。虽然聚会是在酒吧举行的，但下午1点到6点之间没有喝酒。”

At the party, a few boys met the victim and later they all left the premises together, police said.

After the party, the girl and a few youngsters got into two cars and went to a bakery in Banjara Hills. Subsequently, the occupants of the car in which she was travelling, on the pretext of drop her at her residence, took her for a ride and allegedly outraged her modesty.

派对结束后，女孩和几个年轻人上了两辆车，去了Banjara Hills的一家面包店。随后，她所乘的车上的人借口把她送到她的住所，带她去兜风。

She, however, escaped from their clutches and returned home. Police were verifying CCTV footage to identify the accused. One of the seized cars is registered in the name of a woman.

A senior Hyderabad police officer told TOI that none was arrested so far.

Until we verify and come to a conclusion, we cannot comment on it," the officer said, when asked about the role of kin of two public representatives.

By taking the help of a boy, police were verifying different CCTV footage to identify the accused.
