China ’s aircraft carrier has a high degree of localization, and India’ s aircraft carrier ’s degree of localization is low.Thanks to India's good diplomatic environment, they can buy equipment produced by many countries.However, if it is in the state of war, important components cannot be produced by themselves, it is undoubtedly a huge problem.

Except INS Vikrant's power plant, Shandong is better in all aspects. Indian shipbuilding has just started to make strives in naval shipbuilding. There's no comparison with China.

Some of the comments are disappointing - so polarising. I think both countries (India and China) will need to build up their forces as they become economically more powerful. The US will see (or already sees) both as a threat and will try and cause issues with both China and India.

The Vibrant seems like it is more of a fleet defense carrier with an anti-sub role and some limited power projection capabilities. The Shandong seems to be more balanced with more attack capabilities.

My question is whether the stability/handling problems of the J-15 has been corrected. If not, then the advantage of the Shandong over the Vibrant is much slimmer.

China has learned well and planned well in the aircraft carrier building, else type 003 carrier how to be almost near completion with the duration of time taken. not only ship building meanwhile at the same time need to self build all and everything to equip the carrier and not importing any of it.  The fast growth of the PLA inventories including the fast delivery of new destroyers has proved the capability well. all of this were build at the same time.
