US Space agency NASA released images captured by the James Webb Space Telescope, showing in new detail wonders such as a vast cloud of gas surrounding a dying star, and the steamy atmosphere of a giant gassy planet 1,150 light-years from Earth. Scientists expect a torrent of knowledge from the telescope, which scans infrared frequencies that aren’t visible to the human eye, but are rich in information about the building blocks of the universe.

Strange Situation:  it looks like lots and lots of objects but could it be that most of them stopped emitting light long ago and/or many of them were destroyed in various natural processes?  Imagine light emitting from an object 1000 light years away.  If it stopped 500 years ago we would not notice it for another 500 years. So it is hard to know what the Webb sees is still actually there and emitting the light.

I am seeing a lot of comments saying ISRO to step up and NASA being extraordinary. Well indeed NASA is extraordinary but people need to understand the budget as well. ISRO's annual budget is not even 1/10 of NASA's. The cost of jwst itself is more than 5 times the ISRO's annual budget. Also jwst is a venture of 3 space agencies. If ISRO wants to do something like this, they can't do it alone.
