Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated India's President-elect Droupadi Murmu. In a statement, Putin said, "We attach much importance to relations with India and I hope your activities as the head of state will promote further development of Russian-Indian ties". Murmu became the first tribal President of India and will be formally sworn in on Monday.
