A new report suggests Malaysia will pick the South Korean FA-50 over the Tejas. Kuala Lumpur is looking to replace MiG-29s, China-Pak JF-17 out of the race. If Malaysia selects Tejas, they can even think of India's advanced medium combat jet (AMCA). India has pitched a maintenance, repair & overhaul facility for Malaysian Su-30s . Malaysia is struggling to procure Su-30 spares because of anti-Russia sanctions.

FA-50 being a relatively new fighter aircraft. One or two(which is not confirmed by Korean government) T-50( the trainer version of KA-50) has been crashed in Indonesia while performing a night mission and two of the pilots were dead and all this happened in 2022
