NEW DELHI: One-China principle is a universal consensus of the international community and the political foundation for China’s exchanges with other countries, including India, Chinese ambassador to India Sun Weidong told TOI on Wednesday, in the middle of the US-China flare-up over US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

新德里：正值美国众议院议长佩洛西窜访台湾引发中美矛盾之际，周三中国驻印度大使孙卫东对《印度时报》表示，一个中国原则是国际社会的普遍共识，是中国与包括印度在内的其他国家交往的政治基础。

Calling it the core of China’s core interests, and a red line that cannot be crossed, Sun expressed hope that the India ``can understand and support China’s efforts to defend its sovereignty, security and development interests’’ while working with Beiing to promote a healthy development of China-India relations.

孙称这是中国核心利益的核心，是不可逾越的红线，希望印度“能够理解和支持中国捍卫主权、安全和发展利益的努力”，同时与北京共同推动中印关系健康发展。

"India was among the first countries to recognize that there is one China. It is hoped that India can honor the one-China principle, grasp the vicious political intention behind Pelosi’s visit and the serious harms (caused) by the “Taiwan independence” separatist force," he said in an interview on the prevailing tensions over Taiwan.

他在就目前围绕台湾的紧张局势接受采访时表示：“印度是最早承认一个中国的国家之一。希望印方恪守一个中国原则，认清佩洛西访华背后的恶毒政治意图和“台独”分裂势力造成的严重危害。”

Why should India support China when the latter is still in occupation of Aksai Chin and supports Pakistan repeatedly in it's occupation of PoK. China also supported Pakistan in Azhar Masood's case in UN. Stop expecting support when you're never fair to others.

How can China expect to receive any support from India when they have occupied vast areas in the border over years before being stopped by Modiji’s Government. Let them return the occupied areas back to India before seeking support.

India just needs to stand with China to solve a lot of the crisis India is facing now. China Russia are natural allies and India is allied with Russia for now more than NATO or US. in such a time if India joins China, it's a formidable ally that everyone will fear. Only thing is India should negotiate strongly to the point that china ditches Pakistan and favors India in concrete way. It's a smart move that people won't understand or even oppose, but diplomatically speaking 1 that India needs badly!
