The Navies of India and China have received their new aircraft carriers in recent weeks. Beiing on June 17 launched its newest and most advanced aircraft carrier 'Fujian'. The 80,000 tonnes warship is equipped with an electromagnetic aircraft launch system. Only U.S's nuclear-powered Gerald Ford aircraft carrier is equipped with such advanced technology. However, Fujian is a conventional warship and experts warn that China may not be able to fully use the potential of EMALS technology. India on the other hand uses tried and tested STOBAR system on Vikrant.

Stobar system still lags behind the Catapult. India is having a hard time finding jets for the navy and Stobar is the very reason why. A good catapult system has the ability to launch an aircraft with huge payload including extra fuel on jets for long flight. Stobar is honestly a bad choice.

The fact is that the Fujian has more advantages compared with Vikrant, on paper at least, because we don't know all the maxmum capabilities of these two aircraft carriers. What we all know are details that both Beiing and New Delhi want us to know.

Another thing is that China has a way more developed shipbuilding capabilities than India, but India continues to further develop its shipbuilding capabilities. I prefer to be fair, taking all facts from both sides, Vikrant is surely a well-capable aircraft carrier, but for now, I consider Fujian to be more advanced because its design is a generation ahead of Vikrant.

We should not get into this competition with China and big powers rather, we should research and make our own generation Z weapons like airships and radiation guns. For that we need funds but unfortunately more than half of the defence budgets goes in salaries and more importantly pensions. I guess de ocracy is not always beneficial .

Don't just compare what each ship can do but how its fitted. Compare to the Indian AC the components on the Chinese AC are nearly all from China hence they are self sufficient if a war were to break up. How many of those components on the Indian AC is made in India?
