Don't judge a book by it's cover. During ww2 germans were one of the tallest and gorkhas were just 5'3 still they feared gorkhas. Power is not when you are the tallest and have most muscle. It's your strength and durablity and speed which is necessary in army. Just watch any war exercise of indian and usa army then you will realize how powerful are our soldiers.
