in addition to planes and boats, the next trip across the strait may be the underwater high-speed rail. As early as 1997, after Hong Kong returned to China, China hoped to build a high-speed rail linking Taiwan . Mainland China is connected, just like Hong Kong and Macau are now. Imagine being able to take the high-speed train from Beiing all the way across the sea to Taipei.

Fujian in China is the closest place to Taiwan, with a distance of 131 kilometers between the two sides of the strait. With the speed of China's high-speed rail of 350 kilometers per hour, it takes less than 20 minutes to reach Taiwan by high-speed rail. At present, this seems far-fetched, but in the past ten years, China's high-speed rail has been like a waking up dragon. The development speed of the high-speed rail network has reached 70,000 miles, and no country can exceed this mileage at present.

Is this true? Hope it is but can't find any news on China being involved in the HR2 rail project. China is really the only country that can build this high-speed rail on time and on budget, but politics comes first with the UK and they wouldn't want to upset the US. If anyone has any news that China is really involved in this project, please share.
