NEW DELHI: Air India has set a target of transforming over the next five years into a comfortable and punctual world class airline with a larger domestic market share and increased international footprint, under its new owner — the founder Tata Group.

Termed “Vihaan.AI”, Sanskrit for the dawn of a new era for the airline, the ambitious plan has a realistic timeframe given the decades of mismanagement as a government-owned entity to undo. AI says the aim is to by 2027 emerge as a “world-class global airline with an Indian heart - the absolute best in class in customer service, in technology, in product, in reliability and in hospitality.”

It might take some time but I have no doubt in my mind that TATA is going to turn around this white elephant into profit making entity. Not easy to change the attitude & habits of it's employees in a day or two, gradually things will change for sure, and that time it will be a great story in business circles.
