Media says China is a very bad country, but my Chinese friends are really kind people and they tell me China is a safe country which is not what the media says. Am I cheated by the media?

Does the media lie? Not necessarily, but they certainly have political agendas and want to make money off of juicy stories. You can listen to media with a grain of salt, but don’t forget to form your own opinion based on facts and evidence, don’t just take their word for it. Get multiple perspectives on issues.

As for China being bad, you have to recognize that opinion is probably coming from western nations, where republics and de ocracies are the majority. But it is also safer than many western nations and is an enjoyable place to live as long as you obey the law.

Kee this history in mind, it is no surprise that a revolution came in 1911, creating a nationalistic, eventually strong government that would be supported by a people historically abused by western powers. Sweden media HATES everything that has to do with china. I have a chinese boyfriend and I just cannot stress enough how disgusted I am by the western world pointing fingers as if they weren’t just as bad or even worse. Yes, in china there is death penalty FOR CRIMINALS!!!! People are making a fuss over concentration camps but the thing is that we aren’t even talking about innocent people. We are talking about people who riot, people who rape and kill and are trying to separate the chinese people. They deserve prison, they deserve to work! May the punishment be harsh but at least they don’t have people shooting each other on the streets, at least they don’t have school shootings, and least they don’t rob their people on high taxes.

The media has lied to you on almost everything it has said throughout your entire life on most things involving foreign countries. Half truths and twisted narratives. China is different than the West. But it’s not worse. China’s system works more efficiently than America’s. Chinese support their government with 90% approval while Americans are increasingly more distrustful of theirs. CPC members spend years in educational fields and local office areas while DNC/GOP members just pay their way in with minor college degrees. CPC members pay dues and American politicians make millions off of stocks and lobbying. CPC leaders are elected through meritocracy and majority approval while American presidents are elected by who has the catchier slogans and how bad the current administration is. 5 year plans vs hardly kept promises.

I went to China first in 2000. The western media wasn’t slandering China then. There was anti Islamic slander in the US backed media. When I returned to Europe in 2016, the slander began. Since then I have grown to mistrust the USA totally and also the British people who follow the media slander.

Ask yourself, should you trust a media that just writes slander?

Only total brainwashed people with no guts believe whatever their government and media writes.

I have found Chinese people to be extremely friendly. I have been to China 5 times, twice on business and 3 times just for the experience and I have always found virtually all the media stereotypes about China to be totally wrong.

I have found most countries in the world to be inhabited by decent and friendly people and often the poorer the media portrayal of a country the better the actual experience.

In the case of China however I believe most of the negative stuff is aimed at the government rather than the people,e. Myself I am neutral about the government in China because I don’t feel I know enough to judge. The more news I watch the less I feel I really know.

There is no substitute for visiting a country and deciding for yourself.

I’ve been to China 4 times in the last 2 decades, and was also born in China. I am American.

USA is like if your mom and dad had a divorce and the parents are trying to make themselves look good and slandering the other parent. China is if everyone is still the same family to some extent, and aren’t trying to destroy any other family member. China is extremely safe, and violent crimes are very rare. Fist fights and yelling matches are common, but no one is trying to ruin anyone else permanently. Favoritism is rampant and rags to riches stories aren’t as abundant per capita as the USA, but everyone lives a pretty good life.

在过去的20年里，我去过中国4次。我自己就是出生在中国的美国人。

美国就好比你那对离了婚的父母，争着扮好人，说对方坏话。中国则是大家多少都把彼此当家人，不想毁了其他家庭成员的脸面。

When the only things you hear about China - the 2nd economy in the world, a country that is alone home to 20% humanity - is only negative reporting, inhumane behavior, heartbreaking stories of struggling people under, you should question your media.

If the story that is told by all the media around the world sounds like a unison of negativity about China, you should question your trust in your media and politicians.

I have moved around the region long enough, seen the narrative from both side of the fence to know better than just to take what the media tells you at face value. The reality is usually less sensational, less dramatic than what they say (from both sides).

当你听到关于中国——这个世界第二大经济体，拥有全球20%人口的国家——的新闻都是负面的报道，你就应该质疑一下这些个媒体。
