Kee patriotism and emotions aside, the real answer is NO. We cannot beat China in manufacturing. Land acquisitions is extremely expensive in india, local policies, constant protests, interference by opposition or even local level MLA etc is a headache for companies. We do not have world class road infrastructure, our ports are under developed.

I am in Australia, and I heard that Apple shifted some production to India outside China. But I was not happy, when I saw, Made In Vietnam Airpods over Made In India. And was not happy to see luxury clothing brands having Made in Bangladesh tag , instead of Made in India.
