Chinese companies have struggled to enter the Indian electronics manufacturing market, due to increasing political tensions between the two countries. Now, Delhi appears to be warming up to the idea and it's setting boundaries.

According to reports, Chinese investors will have to partner up with local firms to enter the market. The deals will clear on the condition that the Indian parties retain a majority stake. The government is now trying to identify 50 to 60 Indian companies to enter such agreements, not just with Chinese counterparts, but also with companies from South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam.

由于两国之间日益紧张的政治关系，中国企业一直难以进入印度电子制造市场。现在，德里似乎对这一想法很感兴趣，并开始设定界限。

However, rules are being relaxed in more and more industries to allow for 100% Foreign Direct Investment but this access is limited for nations India trusts like western countries, Japan etc. So India is not using China's tactics on China, it's limiting exposure to China like Germany should have done but didn't.

It will likely not happen until the border conflict is resolved. While co unist Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi insisted India set aside the border differences and focus on trade in effort to allegedly "distract" India (according to Indian media). Indian foreign minister S. Jaishankar bluntly refuted this effort by Wang Yi and made the strong point that normal relations between India and co unist China are not possible until the border crisis is resolved. Indian defense minister Rajnath Singh also maintains that co unist China remains the main military threat that India faces. Even more so than Pakistan.

I also want to add one more point.  The so called India GDP growth is primarily based on 1) re-write what is GDP 2) invest a lot in small business (its labor laws have high barrier for mid size companies with over 15 peoples and up )  3) Import a lot of Chinese cheap products and sell to the locals.

If you examine the productivity growth of India, it is about the same before and after Modi, small improvement, yes, but overall it is about the same.  So all these growth are contributed from the above three factors.

Ten years later, India will shut down Chinese factories and shops in India, just like what they are doing with Western factories now.  GM, for example, after investing over $2 Billion dollars in India, have decided to leave India.

India is a good place for a quick dump of products.  But if you want to invest in India, I seriously suggest that you think twice, three times, four times, anyway, just don't do it.  Their policies change on a dime!  Or lack whatsoever.
