China completes test of liquid-propellant rocket engine

A Chinese company announced on Saturday that it had completed the first test of a liquid-propellant rocket engine with the most powerful thrust in the country.

Developed by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the liquid oxygen-kerosene engine has a maxmum thrust of 500 tonnes, about four times that of the current engines of the same type.

The success of the test marks a significant breakthrough in the development of the rocket engine of this type, the company said.

11月5日，一家中国公司宣布，已完成该国推力最大的液体推进剂火箭发动机的首次测试。

由中国航天科技集团公司开发的液氧煤油发动机最大推力为500吨，是目前同类发动机的四倍。
