NEW DELHI: The G20 summit on November 15-16 in Bali will see PM Narendra Modi and other leaders participating in three important sessions, including on food and energy security, digital transformation and health, said the government ahead of the PM’s departure to Indonesia.

新德里：印度政府在总理启程前往印度尼西亚之前表示，11月15日至16日在巴厘岛举行的G20峰会上，莫迪总理和其他领导人将参加三场重要会议，包括关于粮食和能源安全、数字转型和健康的会议。

Official sources said Modi will have around 20 engagements during his two-day stay in Bali where, as the next Chair, India will look to speak for the develo countries, which are battling some of the worst consequences of the conflict in Europe, and steer the agenda in a “balanced” manner.

官方消息人士称，莫迪在巴厘岛为期两天的访问期间将参加大约20场活动，作为下一届主席国，印度将寻求为发展中国家说话，这些国家正在与欧洲冲突的一些最严重后果作斗争，并以一种“平衡”的方式引导议程。

Apart from exsting environmental challenges and other issues, the G20 is expected to focus on current challenges like uneven post-pandemic economic recovery, debt vulnerabilities especially in the countries of the global south, ongoing conflict in Europe and its knock on effects such as food security challenges, energy crisis and inflation. “G20 leaders will discuss these challenges and underscore the importance of closer multilateral cooperation to help overcome these challenges,” said foreign secretary Vinay Kwatra.

Kwatra said Modi, who will receive G20 presidency from Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the closing session, will also utilise the opportunity to invite the G20 leaders to India’s G20 Summit. Modi is expected to have many bilateral meetings on the sidelines including with the leaders of the US, France, UK and Germany. There was no confirmation of any proposal for a bilateral meeting with Chinese.

India is currently part of the G20 Troika (current, previous and incoming G20 Presidencies) that comprises Indonesia, Italy and India. After India takes over the presidency, the Troika will comprise Indonesia, India and Brazil that will assume presidency from India after the summit next year.

印度目前是由印度尼西亚、意大利和印度组成的G20三驾马车（现任、前任和即将上任的G20主席国）中的一员。印度接任主席国后，“三驾马车”将由印尼、印度和巴西组成，巴西将在明年峰会后接替印度担任主席国。

India should bat for negotiated Rus-Ukr settlement which will solve many problems the world today facing. Modi should also think about long term oil purchase from Russia through pipeline that will avoid insurance issue, environmental degradation (in case of oil spill) and long ship time which will reduce the CO2 footprint also.
