The world's population will cross 8 billion today, the UN estimates, doubling in 48 years from the time it hit the 4 billion mark in 1974. The next doubling will never happen. Although the world population will continue to grow for the next few decades, this will largely come because of fewer deaths and an increase in life expectancy, shows UN population data.

This also means that every billion adds to count of older people and hence pushes the global median age-the age that divides the population in two parts of equal numbers. In 1974, the median age of the global population was 20.6 years, meaning half of the world was younger than 22.2 years while the other half was older than that age. The current global median age is 30.5 years.

As birth rates keep falling, population will grow slower until it stalls and starts declining sometime this century.

Already there is lack of resources. One college seat, one job post amd lakhs or even crores of applicants. It’s the time people should think about having one child instead of 2 or more. Else this trend will keep on doubling adding to thr population. People working like cattles only to feed the system

Every female across every religion is producing very few babies. In fact per female fertility is less than 2 across all the groups. Population is because of high life expectatncy. Three health generations are living together. India's Population is already set to decline very fast after a few decades. Sorry to say but this is common sense and common maths so it's hard for a lot of people to understand

India will surpass China with a projected population of over 1.5 billion. China's population will fall to about 800 million. This means there will almost double the number of Indians than Chinese. India will then export all its people to Canada, USA, England, Australia and New Zealand. Those countries might get fed up of so many Indians turning up on their shores. Reverse colonisation in full swing.
