NEW DELHI: The number of Indian students studying in the United States increased 19 per cent over last year to nearly two lakh compared with a 13% drop in the previous year, according to an annual Open Doors report released by the Institution of International Education on Monday.

China and India represent the majority (52%) of all international students in the United States. China remains the top sending country in 2021/22, with 290,086 students on U.S. campuses (-9% year-over-year). India, the second top-sending country, sent 199,182 international students in 2021/22, an increase of 19% year-over-year.

A big clap . one student spends minimum 60 lakh Indian Rs. in education per year in US . So 2 Lakh students means 1.2 lakh Cr loss for India and Gain in US . So where the money was earned - In India . So pretty easy calculation .... Just by giving visa to 2 Lakh student per year - 1.2 Lakh Crore is wiped out of India every year .... So why the hell US wont give visa . Which student visa got rejected ??? It is the work visa which they dont give because then the flow is reverse .

The United States will offer study visas because the colleges will profit. Because the US government cannot generate so many employment, students will not be granted work visas. Therefore, students who travel overseas will return to India with a hefty debt.
