India successfully carries out night trials of Agni-V nuclear-capable missile

印度成功进行“烈火-5”型洲际弹道导弹的夜间飞行试验

NEW DELHI: India on Thursday successfully carried out the night trials of Agni-V nuclear-capable ballistic missile off Odisha coast, ANI reported.

The missile can hit targets beyond 5,000 kilometres, defence sources said.

The test was carried out to validate new technologies and equipment on the missile which is now lighter than before.

The trial has proved the capability to enhance the range of the Agni-V missile, if required.

Last year, in a strong strategic signal to China, India had successfully tested Agni V — its most formidable missile — which brings even the northernmost part of China within its strike envelope.

The test was is in line with India’s stated policy to have “credible minimum deterrence that underpins the commitment to no first-use (NFU)”, the defence ministry had said.

据亚洲国际新闻社报道，周四，印度在奥里萨邦外海成功进行了可携带核弹头的“烈火-5”型洲际弹道导弹的夜间飞行试验。

国防部消息人士称，该导弹可以打击5000公里以外的目标。

本次试射主要是为了检验导弹上的各种新技术和新装备，现在导弹比以前更轻了。

试验证实在必要情况下烈火- 5导弹的射程可以进一步提高。

去年，印度成功试射了印度最高等级的烈火- 5导弹，这向中国发出了一个强烈的战略信号，印度已将中国最北端纳入了其打击范围。

印度国防部表示，这次试验符合印度的国策，即拥有“用最低的威慑力，维系不率先使用核武器的承诺”。
