India has pretty strict policies on who can join their military. Such as height and weight i think because their uniforms are a type of 1 size fits all etc. If they drop that and let anyone join (they usually have thousands of people que up for a chance of recruitment) they would have a pretty large army.

I'm a native from Assam, India and when I tell you that river Brahmaputra is humongous its huge and seeing it drying up will be a very scary sight. Moreover, Assam and Northeast India region is a very fertile region with fertile plains, hills and so majority of people are dependent on agriculture, not to mention northeast India's natural beauty of centuries would be hurt.
