Just few days ago, the TSMC tech people with their families and dogs rented whole airplanes to move from Taiwan to the US, so in case China take back Taiwan, US will have chips made in the US without interruption.

US movesTSMC to US to make chips, not just factory, US invites over 1000 tech people to migrate into US, not just them but all their families and kids to US, so whole families, and with their dogs , moved to US with instant green card of US while for Indians to wait for a green card time is 125 years, for the tech from TSMC, they got theirs sent directly into their hands.

current TW and South Korea can make 5 nm chip, and move to make 3 nm (with different tech path in South Korea vs TW), China is as non confirmed in 14 nm, some said at 7 nm, but general recognition is China can only make 60 nm for commercial production. long way to go to catch up TSMC or South Korea, with US sanction, it will be very difficult for China.
