Nepal's PM recently inaugurated the Pokhara airport which was built with Chinese loan money. Reports say, China is also building a railway line from Tib to Kathmandu. Molly Gambhir reports.

@AdamSmith009 Look at Bangladesh China gave loans to Bangladesh many decades ago now look how well they are doing.

Majority of countries have corrupt politicans like in Sri Lanka and even more corrupt leaders in Africa. That keep the money to themselves and spend it on useless material things instead of investing on their country's infrastructure and creating jobs.

That's why they go broke or end up trap in debt trap.

If Nepal can create by investing the money in modern agriculture tools and machinery it can create alot of food based jobs as well as feed the nation and export foods to other countries. And clothing Nepal can create alot of clothes and motorcycle and car company can be created.

@AdamSmith009 Wealth is no guarantee. China can only offer improvements to living conditions. But, if Nepal only trade with India, surly Nepal will surrender to India by India blocking all access to Nepal. Since, trade option with China is possible, Nepal is in better position to balance trade. And India is less effective in blocking Nepal.

Hong Kong were leased to Britain for 100 years, very much like Sri Lanka to leased its port to China. Taiwan is not a country and a treaty were signed between Qing China and Japan after a war. But, the government of Qing China were intact, didn’t went through colonization by western nations like India.
