A college professor from Punjab has accused senior staffers at the Pakistani High Commission in Delhi of sexual harassment. The woman alleged that the incident took place in 2021 when she visited the embassy to apply for a visa to travel to Pakistan. She, reportedly, filed an official complaint with Pakistan and even wrote to Pak Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari but she did not receive any help. The woman has now raised the issue with Indian Foreign Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

Immigration officers do ask some weird questions and make random remarks, I never thought it will be in news. Once when leaving India, immigration officer said my admission letter is fraudulent and I am getting sex trafficked Single women above a certain age get harrassed, as if we are doormats now that we have crossed "that age", me and many people I know have faced the same. One of my friends checked into a hotel (for work related visit) but the bellboy asked her if she needed "additional services". I travel a lot and bus conductors hint that am a sex worker travelling for "work". Younger people get harrassed as well but are not able to defend themselves.

Most important Qs - Why was she even trying to visit a hostile nation? Why are we allowing people to people contact with a hostile nation? Visiting monuments for study/articles/photography doesn’t seem to be a valid enough reason - you get a lot of pics on the Internet. Why are we doing architectural studies about a hostile nation? Rather spend the money for detailed studies/expeditions to the far east which has an unexplored Hindu past.
