Western rabble is not really as free and independent as they are portrayed in making their own opinions and choices and most of the times those opinions on other countries are based on lies and propaganda fed to them by their brainwashing media and movies. In fact we can say an average Wester is the most brainwashed and mentally enslaved person in the world who knows little to nothing outside of their bubble.

For many in the west, both Indians and Chinese evoke mystery and confusion. Both societies share similarity with the west and a lot of differences.
India’s social systems, diversity and religions confuse the heck out. From caste system to weddings to meditation to many handed gods to Hare Krishna, there is a lot of things that can be mysterious and confusing for a westerner. On the other hand, contemporary China’s social system and religion has little surprises for a westerner. It is much more closer to a western nation-state.
China has had a different political system for 2000+ years. Their language and writing pattern is also very different from Indian and European ones. In contrast, India has a more familiar political system and follow the Indo-European family of languages and abugida scripts (which are quite similar to alphabet scripts of the western world). Less surprises there.
Both their diets confuse the westerners a bit. Many Indians are vegetarians and that sometimes brings derision. Some Chinese eat some animals that the westerners think unedible. In terms of clothing, Chinese have become little more westernized than Indians, so slightly more compatibility.
When it comes to racial attacks, neither are big targets [Africans and Muslims have faced more trouble]. However, between the two Chinese faced far more racial discrimination, especially in the US. In the US, Chinatowns provide a ready vulnerable target, while Indians are quite dispersed among the whites. In UK, it is reverse with Indians more ghettoized than Chinese and thus they have faced more racial attacks especially from the ultra-right groups. Same is partly true in Australia. In rest of Europe, neither Indians nor Chinese are in large numbers and thus are not big victims of racial attacks.

Chinese are more (and I think it is the most) vulnerable not to physical racial like attacks against Blacks physically, but in terms of the unpleasant behavior and words of othering, the ridiculing, the marginalisation, the shunning. When they confront it their bullies and tormentors would simply get away “we don’t hate you” yet, the torments continue.
Indians are actually just a darker version (or less attractive version) of Caucasian race, except for their religion and their smelly bodies, only if they show religious fanaticism or bigotry, they are just naturally blended in with the mainstream. And Indians are among the most vicious haters of Chinese.
