PM Modi to release Rs 16,800 crore to over 8 crore farmers under PM-KISAN scheme tomorrow

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release a total of Rs 16,800 crore for farmers under his flagship PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme at an event to be held in Belagavi, Karnataka, on Monday. Over eight crore farmers will receive Rs 2,000 each directly in their bank accounts ahead of rabi harvesting under the 13th instalment of the scheme, an official statement said on Sunday.

This will be Prime Minister Modi's fifth visit to poll-bound Karnataka this year, where he will also inaugurate Shivamogga airport, besides laying foundation for various development projects in Belagavi. According to an official statement, the PM will undertake a walkthrough and inspect the airport in Shivamogga.

Apart from disbursing PM-KISAN money to the beneficiaries, Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate the Belagavi railway station building to the nation. The railway station has been redeveloped at an approxmate cost of about Rs 190 crore to provide world-class amenities to the passengers. He will also launch the rail line doubling project between Londa-Belagavi worth Rs 930 crores.

The 11th and 12th instalments under the scheme were given in May and October last year.

If PM gives, it is not REVDI. It is called Param Dharam. If others do it, then it is Revdi. Why do farmers in Karnataka need this Revdi now? It is not that they are under distress for natural calamities of some sort. Are they?

A farmer average in India for Mansoon crops spends atleast 30,000 average from cultivation to harvesting for one Acre. If the crop yields good he will earn 50,000 rs. 20,000 is the real profit and do you think with this will he able to survive with his family. Those days are not far you will be having money but no food. Already 50% of farmers are leaving agriculture due to less or no profit.

There is no need for revdi to farmers if you implement M S Swaminathan commission's recommendation on pricing agricultural goods. One of the Modi's promise to double the income of farmers is still pending and,no great improvement has been made since 2014. The news carrying suicides of farmers still haunting and it's proven Modi is for corporates only and not for common man.
