China's AG600 amphibious aircraft to enter market in 2025

2025年中国AG600两栖飞机将进入市场

The Chinese giant AG600 seaplane is expected to hit the market in 2025, the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) has announced.

中国航空工业集团公司（中航工业）宣布，中国大型的AG600水上飞机预计将于2025年上市。

In addition, AVIC will seek to encourage the delivery of an initial batch of firefighting aircraft by 2025.

The AG600 variant of the air fire extinguisher is targeted to receive a type certificate in 2024, said AVIC.

Another AG600 variant, namely for search and rescue (SAR) missions, is targeted to obtain a type certificate in 2025.

Based on its history, the aircraft nicknamed Kunlong (Air Dragon) successfully carried out its first flight from the ground runway of inwan Airport, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province on December 24, 2017.
