On Saturday, construction of the main suspension structure of a cross-river rail bridge, a key section of the Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway, was officially completed. Spanning the Tuojiang River in Luzhou City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, the mega-railway bridge is 2,613 meters in length, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway, linking two major cities of China's southwest, will slash the travel time between them from nearly five hours to just two hours when it is completed in 2025.

3月18日，重庆至昆明高速铁路的关键路段——跨江铁路大桥的主跨正式完工。这座特大铁路桥横跨中国西南部四川省泸州市的沱江，全长2613米，设计时速350公里。连接中国西南部两个主要城市的重庆至昆明高铁将在2025年建成，届时两地之间的行车时间将从目前的近五个小时缩短至仅两个小时。

泸州沱江特大桥位于四川省泸州市龙马潭区、江阳区交界处，全长2613.315米，主桥塔高115.7米，设计时速350公里，为国内高速铁路首次采用双柱式V型桥塔、空间扇形索面斜拉索的斜拉桥，主梁采用（124+240+124）m索加劲连续刚构跨越沱江，是渝昆高铁全线最大跨度预应力混凝土刚构连续梁桥，由中铁二院设计、中铁四局承建。

There is currently hostility between China and India. This bridge was built so China could send their troops faster to the China-India border just like how India built a tunnel near the disputed border. They both claim their bridge/tunnel is solely for "reducing commute time." Yeah, reducing commute time for both their troops.
