How wealthy are the Chinese in Malaysia compared with the general population? More specifically, how much do they (Chinese in Malaysia) make each year per capita?

There is official number on how much Chinese earn per capita.
But, one thing unmistakable is the Chinese own business/shop/mall/big houses in city.
It is very prominent to the extent that you can't go to the row of shop in West Coast states of peninsular malaysia without seeing one. That's should explain generally how well off they are.
Notes: I'm not complaining or blaming Chinese on this. I think they deserve this very well. Coz the shop or business that you can rely on is always Chinese. It is affordable, fast and most importantly they always open even during weekend, and most of them continue for decades.

Majority of Chinese in Malaysia are still very poor and not able to do much for the country due to restrictive policies set up by previous governments that has not been enforced in the past but failed to benefit the entire population as a whole including the Chinese too
seriously for the country to progress Malaysia need to rewrite all the policies that can truly bring the country forward and benefit all races that live in the country and bring out the best of all the versions races in the county

It is difficult to provide a precise answer to your question, as the wealth of the Chinese community in Malaysia varies widely and depends on a number of factors, including their education, occupation, and business ventures.
In Malaysia, the Chinese population makes up about 23% of the total population, according to the 2010 Census. The Chinese community in Malaysia is a diverse group with a long history in the country, and many members have made significant contributions to the nation's economic and social development.
In general, the Chinese in Malaysia have a higher per capita income compared to the general population. According to data from the World Bank, the average per capita income in Malaysia in 2020 was approxmately $10,470. However, this figure includes the incomes of both the rich and the poor, and does not provide a clear picture of the wealth distribution within the Chinese community in Malaysia.
It is worth noting that the income distribution in Malaysia is highly unequal, with a significant portion of wealth concentrated in the hands of a small number of individuals. This is true for both the Chinese and non-Chinese communities in Malaysia.
In conclusion, it is difficult to accurately quantify the wealth of the Chinese community in Malaysia, as it is a diverse group with a wide range of incomes and wealth.

The Chinese generally will save more than average. It is ingrained in their upbringing that money is hard to come by and at best very temporary.
Most will not spend unnecessarily on non-essential items. Such luxury expenditure can be postponed until one has accumulated a large enough savings.
So yes, most Chinese would have more savings than average.
Per capita income is a pointless measurement as it is difficult to isolate incomes by race. It suffices to say that poverty is just as much a problem for the Chinese as anyone else.

Article by Ong Kian Ming:
“One statistic which may surprise many is that there are more Bumiputera households earning more than RM10,000 a month compared with Chinese households.
Ong Kian Ming
According to Khazanah Research Institute’s State of the Household Report first published in 2014, there were 280,000 Bumiputera households with monthly incomes exceeding RM10,000 compared with 254,000 Chinese households and 45,000 Indian households.
These figures were obtained from the 2012 household and income survey collected by the Department of Statistics.
Many Bumiputera, especially Malay households, are in the T20 category. This is part of the professionalisation and urbanisation experience of the Malays over the past four decades and this trend will continue as more Malays move to the urban areas and as more Malays obtain higher education qualifications (a subject for another post) and have access to better job opportunities.
Many high-paying jobs, whether in the civil service, government-linked companies or in non-GLC listed companies are held by Malay professionals.
Of course, it is also true that the majority of the B40 group are from the Bumiputeras. According to figures collected for the 11th Malaysia Plan, the Bumiputeras comprised 73.6% of households in the B40 category.[4]
At the same time, it is also worth highlighting that Chinese households comprise 17.5% of the B40 category and Indian households 7.5%. The impression that all Chinese are rich towkays is clearly a mistaken one.

This question somehow provoke the attribute of an unbalanced society where the incomes difference of Chinese Malaysians are so width by themselves. Per capita income of the lowest are around USD 7,000 but the top tier incomes of the rich could be reaching USD1 Million per capita. These group usually own businesses. Average per capita income for Chinese Malaysians are much higher due to this skewed distribution itself. It is around USD30k whereas for non-chineses are around USD10k.

This is too general in scope. Not all Malaysian Chinese are rich tycoons who live in the clouds and never let their toes touch the ground.
There are millions of Chinese Malaysians who just get by with a working wage. To pointedly ask why Malaysian Chinese are so rich just shows your utter ignorance of the country and its people.
Every single Chinese Malaysian has to work to earn a living. Those who become rich are those who have a legacy from their ancestors or have earned their place in society by working hard for what they want in life.
As an oppressed race in the country, you learn to respect the laws of the land and work around them.
This is why when they succeed, their fortunes are envied. But you never hear of their dedication to their trade because working hard in Chinese culture is unspoken.
It is a Chinese trait to adapt to the conditions you are born into. This is why they even thrive in places like Africa, where they learn and adapt to cultures completely alien from theirs.
So before you point a racial finger at anyone for being rich, do a bit of research first before asking stupid questions.

first and far most, I am not a Malaysian. But have travelled there frequently, (few times a week), and have many friends there.
Let me say that it is a myth that general population of chinese is rich. Some do, many be those in top few percent.
As Chinese as well as Indian, even if their scores are good, they cannot go to University easily, as the quota given to them is very low.
Civil service job is not open to them.
Housing discount don’t have their shares.
So, they have to work double hard just to stay afloat.

There's no indicator measuring the wealth of the Chinese. But, the GDP of USD 13,000 annual income per capita On the 33 million population of which 70% of the population is malay.
While China is only USD 12,000 per capita, & US is USD 53,000 per capita.

Malaysian Chinese are spread around whole of Malaysia except in 4 states : Kelantan, Terengganu, Perlis & Sabah where they made of only 2% to 9% of the population in these 4 states. In other states & territories they made up from 15 to up to 43% of the population. Majority of them live in urban areas ie. cities, towns etc which mostly were started in early 20th century from areas of tin mines & ship ports around Malaysia where most of them worked & settled when they first immigrate from China.
Since the Klang Valley is Malaysia’s biggest in size & population for urban area, I’d say that it is the part of Malaysia which has the most Chinese, namely the areas of Petaling Jaya, Ke, injang & Cheras.
In term of percentage, it would be Penang Island (state of Penang has 2 main areas - The Island & Butterworth which in on the mainland). Malaysian Chinese made up almost half the population in Penang Island & 40% of the whole State of Penang but the numbers are lower than in Klang Valley.
