I suspect China will use their AG600 to drop off and retrieve sensor stations hundreds of miles in front of the task force. Sensor stations that unreel linear strings of sonar sensors thousands of feet down plus surface & air sensors.   Possibly manned and armed with anti sub torpedo.  The AG600 is big enough to do it

I doubt it'll carry that many helos. Like on the USN CVNs, 2 SAR+2-3 ASW helos would be enough, as well as 4-5 KJ-600s. There should be also room for COD plane in the hangar in case it's down for emergency maintenance.

It's interesting to see the difference in design philosophy between Chinese and American carrier groups. A US carrier strike group is essentially a mobile air base, designed to take control of hostile airspace, while Chinese strike groups seem much more like traditional war fleets focused on wng control of the sea. I suppose a lot of that is due to the ability gap (as well as sheer numbers gap) between the two nations' carriers, but it also seems to be in kee with broader differences between the global missions of the PLAN and USN.
