I don't think it's a matter of dragging it out to make more money. I remember working on a tomato farm years ago. One morning, the farmer told us he wanted a culvit put in. I was surprised. It was only a small crew of workers, but they timed the job. They took pride in the fact they got it done in a little under an hour. It's just a different mindset. I'd say the Chinese have the same mindset,. It's not to end up feeling better than anybody else because we weren't competing against anybody else. I really don't know what drives it. Maybe self pride or something.
